Mobile Device Use [INFORMATION and BUGS]

Please list any mobile viewing bugs in this topic...

Currently: U|A - UndergroundAndroid.com in it's current state is usable on mobile devices, tho in the Forums UI there is quite a bit of on click jQuery based animation and it tends to be a bit much for older mobile devices browsing.

As we "TEST" different mobile devices we will list them here in this topic as comments by posting details regarding:

  1. Device Type/Model Number
  2. Current running Android OS Version
  3. Stock or Custom Setup Details
  4. Browser(s) tested with device
  5. Speed of device while on site
  6. Connection Type (WiFi, 3G, 4G, etc.)
  7. Bugs found (Display, UI, Navigation, etc.)

We encourage all our members to do the same! The more information we have the faster we can get the rest of the pieces of U|A in place.

CURRENT GENERAL LIST OF BUGS ON MOBILE DEVICES:

  1. Screen Refresh in UI, sometimes hangs or drops in and out of display
  2. Depending on Browser buttons and tabs may be a little buggy on-click because of animation and desktop control/function scripts

We are working as fast as we can, we thank you for your patients!

Motorola Xoom Tablet use on U|A in currents site state (07/06/2013) while mobile browsing

Device:

  1. Motorola Xoom

Model Number:

  1. US/WiFi-Only
  2. Nvidea Tegra 2 Dual core Processor 1 GHz
  3. 1 GB of DDR2 RAM

Current Android OS:

  1. Jelly Bean 4.1.2
  2. Kernal version 2.6.39.4-g4e32b94
  3. Build Number: JZ054K

OS/Rom Setup:

  1. Stock/Rooted OS [Recovery Mod - TWRP]

Browser Tested:

  1. Mobile Chrome v.27.0.1453.90 web-kit 537.36
  2. Stock Web-kit Browser v.4.1.2-485486

Browser Connection Speed Test Results:

  1. 25.3 MB Download x 5.5 MB Upload (used speedtest.net mobile app)

Connection Type:

  1. WiFi

Bugs Found:

  1. Home page slider cuts in and out a little, not bad
  2. Forum UI gets buggy with button selection screen elements drop in and out, seams to be a screen refresh issue

Other Noted Information:
When filling out a comment on mobile device, and you click else where in the Forum UI (ex. Tab to view comments), the UI updates and the tab opens, but you lose the text in the "Add New Comment" area if you didn't submit it before clicking else where in the UI.
Other than the Forum UI, sites overall performance with Moto Xoom Tablet isn't bad, load times are generally quick.

Bugs Found:
1 - Hard to select forum link from the "Forums" screen.

3 - In topic view, "View Comments" section is too small, "Write Comment" is also small. (Not really a bug, but fixing would be good).

Notes:
Used U|A on my Xoom, Nexus 10, S4 and laptop (still going to type experience on S4), and the best experience so far was with Nexus 10 (except by the clicking problem). Loads fast even with slow connection (except by Home).

You are correct if you use the "New" listed under topics - listed in the forum title or "View New" listed with topics when they load on the left (there the little/quick links. Quote does not work as well as various other issue because we have not set the links to redirect yet! We are getting there... Shouldn't be to long before those are working properly!

So for now, if you happen to click a forum related link and it takes you out of the Forum UI to the node level. Just click back or the forum menu button to reload the forum UI - If you only use the main links in the forum UI "Title Links" you will be fine and everything for the most part is working properly.

So if the link in your browser displays anything other than www.undergroundandroid.com/forum "You have left the UI which will result in things not functioning properly.

-But if you just want to see say the last post made for now, use the shortcut links, just remember if you want to comment on it you have to do it thru the U|A Forum UI.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause!

Edit: technically this is not a mobile bug - I will add this to site bug reports topic
